Giants RB Sandro Platzgummer is Moving On
FEB. 2 SANDRO PLATZGUMMER SAYS GOODBYE - Austrian running back Sandro Platzgummer announced on his Instagram account that his three-year tenure with the Giants has ended.
Platzgummer was initially assigned to the New York Giants via the International Pathways program in 2020 as a running back. The Austrian native would spend three years on the team's practice squad under a roster exemption while working on his craft.
During the 2021 and 2022 preseason, Platgummer received 13 snaps, attempting 12 rushes and picking up 86 yards, including a huge 48-yard run last year against the Jets. He also averaged 7.2 yards per rushing attempt and picked up 31 of his rushing yards after contact while forcing three missed tackles.
Platzgummer is currently studying to become a medical doctor.
