Giants' Projected Injury Report: Don't Expect Barkley or Bredeson for Thursday

In this story:
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley and left guard Ben Bredeson are unlikely to play Thursday night when the Giants visit the San Francisco 49ers.
Barkley was diagnosed with a right ankle sprain, luckily avoiding a high ankle sprain. Still, the injury, which he suffered in the last minute and a half of Sunday's win against the Arizona Cardinals, is expected to keep him out for at least three weeks, with Barkley having an outside chance of returning in time for the Dolphins game.
With Bakrley out, the Giants will split his reps among Matt Breida, Gary Brightwell, and rookie Eric Gray.
Bredeson suffered a concussion and was replaced in the lineup by Mark Glowinski, who had been benched from his starting right guard job following an awful performance against the Cowboys in Week 1.
Head coach Brian Daboll praised Glowinski for how he handled his benching.
"Mark was a pro about it. He was ready to go when he got put back in," Daboll said. "I know he’s always been a right guard, and then we played him at left guard during training camp, and it showed up. So, he was a pro about it; that’s a decision we made, and he handled it the right way."
Bredeson is currently in the league protocol, and it's unlikely he'll clear it before Thursday.
"We will see where that goes," Daboll said.
If Bredeson can't play, Glowinski will likely get the start at left guard again unless left tackle Andrew Thomas (hamstring), projected as "limited" by the Giants, is good to go Thursday night, which could then push Joshua Ezeudu inside to left guard.
The rest of the Giants' projected injury report includes outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari (hamstring), receiver Wan'Dale Robinson (knee), and inside linebacker Micah McFadden (neck).
Ojulari and Robinson were both inactive last week. The Giants might hold both another game, especially with an 11-day break coming up after the Thursday night game against the 49ers.
McFadden's injury is a new one to the list. Given the short work week, his status will likely be questionable for Thursday night.
