Giants Week 17 Injury Report: New Names on List

In this story:
The New York Giants released their first injury report ahead of their Week 17 game against the Los Angeles Rams, and the list has several new names on it.
Among the most notable of those who weren't projected to practice today (the Giants held a walkthrough, so the practice report was a projection) is cornerback Deonte Banks, who injured his shoulder on Monday against the Eagles.
Banks joined tight end Lawrence Cager (groin/inactive last week) and defensive linemen Dexter Lawrence (hamstring), A'Shawn Robinson (back), and Rakeem Nunez-Roches (knee/inactive last week) as those who were projected to be unable to practice Wednesday.
Eight Giants were projected as limited, several of those names new to the injury list, including the starting interior offensive lineup of right guard Ben Bredeson (quad), center John Michael Schmitz (shoulder), and left guard Justin Pugh (elbow).
They were joined by running back Saquon Barkley (elbow), punter Jamie Gillan (knee/left groin), cornerback Adoree' Jackson (ankle), receiver Wan'Dale Robinson (quad), and tight end Darren Waller (knee).
With Banks and Jackson ailing, the Giant's depth at cornerback looks a little thin for the coming week.
Running back Gary Brightwell (hamstring), who is in Week 2 of his 21-day window to return from IR, was not listed on the report.
Head coach Brian Daboll said Gillan is trending in the right direction. Gillan appeared to be hampered by his groin strain, which he suffered when place-kicking for the team in their loss to the Saints two weeks ago. He aggravated his knee when trying to tackle Eagles punt returner Britain Covey on the Giants' first punt of the game, a 54-yard return.
In other injury news, Daboll said that offensive tackle Evan Neal, placed on injured reserve last week, will undergo ankle surgery soon.
