Giants Host QB Hendon Hooker for Predraft Visit

In this story:
As top-30 draft visits come to a close, the New York Giants are reportedly planning to host Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker at their facility Wednesday, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker is visiting the #Giants tomorrow, sources say. Hooker’s busy pre-draft tour continues, as teams are gathering as much information on him and his recovery as they can.

Hooker is coming off a torn ACL in his left knee suffered last season, an injury that no doubt has teams considering him wanting to get the latest possible update on his medical status.
He is listed as NFL Draft Bible's sixth-highest-rated quarterback and CBS Sports' fifth-highest-ranked quarterback. CBS Sports compares Hooker to Geno Smith of the Seahawks, noting that the signal-caller has a twitchiness about him and acceptable open-field speed with a strong enough arm to push the ball vertically down the field.
Besides wanting to be thorough with assembling their draft board, the interest in Hooker--in any of the draftable quarterbacks, for that matter--comes as no surprise even though the Giants signed starter Daniel Jones to a four-year, $160 million deal last month.
The Giants are thought to be looking to add a developmental quarterback prospect who might eventually reach a point that would allow them to move on from Tyrod Taylor, who is currently about to enter the final year of his contract.
Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker has met extensively with the Raiders, Panthers, Giants, Saints, and Cowboys during the pre-draft process, per source.

The dual-threat talent is expected be healthy and ready for training camp after suffering a torn ACL in Nov.
Of course, this might not matter if Hooker, whose stock has been rising, doesn't make it out of the first round, as NFL Rookie Watch suggests could be the case.
Multiple NFL scouts reportedly believe Hendon Hooker “will not” make it past the 29th overall pick.

The Commanders reportedly “really like” the Volunteers QB as well.
If Hooker is to go in the first round, he would be the second oldest QB (25) drafted in the first round in the… pic.twitter.com/hPspQ0f7W6
The Giants are not drafting a quarterback in the first round, and it's hard to imagine they'd consider drafting a quarterback on Day 2 either, which, if projections for Hooker to be gone by then come to fruition, makes one wonder if the potential interest in the quarterback involves something more.
