Giants Waive Cornerback Rodarius Williams

In this story:
New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll said the team had waived cornerback Rodarius Williams.
Williams was originally a sixth-round draft pick by the Giants in 2021 out of Oklahoma State. However, his rookie campaign was cut short due to a knee injury, limiting him to just five games.
Williams started last season on injured reserve as his knee wasn't ready. When he finally was cleared to return, he appeared in three games with one start. Still, he disappeared from the picture after playing against Dallas in Week 12, in which he played 50 snaps and logged one tackle and no pass completions allowed, losing snaps to undrafted rookie Zyon Gilbert.
Williams resurfaced for the meaningless Week 18 regular-season finale against the Eagles and had been running with the third- and fourth-string defenses this summer. He did not play in the team's preseason win over the Carolina Panthers.
However, Williams never really appeared to have recovered physically from his knee injury, some of that spilling over to other parts of his game.
Williams, who was about to enter the third year of his four-year rookie deal this season, also irked the coaching staff by airing his frustrations over his lack of playing time on social media. At the time, Daboll said he would handle the airing of grievances privately with the players and did not disclose if Williams had been fined for going public with his feelings.
Williams was claimed off waivers by the Bucs.
