Lorenzo Styles Jr. is the older brother of Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles.

Strengths
- Took the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine by storm
- Tested through the ROOF in Indianapolis
- Elite athletic profile with good size
- Elite straight line speed
- Flies downhill – incredibly explosive
- Receiver background is evident when attacking the football (when located)
- Versatile – can play slot/FS or be box safety
- Explosive blitzing threat off edge
- Sees field better as a deep safety
- Solid zone awareness in intermediate and deep portions of the field
- High ceiling as man coverage defender (must be disciplined)
- Core special teams players at Notre Dame and Ohio State
- Is still new to playing DB – how high is his ceiling?
Weaknesses
- A twinge of stiffness in his hips
- Is a bit raw due to new position
- Route recognition remains a work in progress
- Open field tackling mechanics are not refined (missed 15.9% of tackles)
- Lacks experience
- Wish he did a better job locating the football in the air (limited sample size)
- Several upper body injuries in 2025 – including a dislocated shoulder in the spring that required surgery
- Slightly older prospect – 23 years old (9-9-2002)
Summary
Lorenzo Styles Jr. possesses a fantastic – and explosive – athletic profile. He took the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine by storm with his 4.27 forty-yard-dash (fastest at the combine) and his explosive 1.49s 10-yard split.
The brother of Sonny Styles does not have much experience playing defense, though, and that’s evident on his film.
Still, he makes for a high end special teams asset who can effectively be a sub-package defensive back, while having the upside to develop into something much more dynamic.
