Former New York Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale reportedly has had no shortage of interest in his services from teams around the league, and he's expected to start narrowing down his options as soon as the coming week.

Per the NFL Network, Martindale is expected to speak with the Jacksonville Jaguars next week.

A move to a Florida team would make sense for the 60-year-old defensive coordinator, who already has a home in the state.

Martindale resigned from the Giants last week after reportedly engaging in an expletive-filled tirade with head coach Brian Daboll after rDaboll informed Martindale of his plans to fire outside linebackers coach Drew Wilkins and his brother Kevin, a defensive assistant hand-picked by Martindale to be on his defensive staff.

Martindale and the Wilkins brothers reportedly drew Daboll's ire with their perception of whom they were accountable.

Martindale, who had one year remaining on his contract with the Giants, stormed out of his meeting with Daboll and from the Giants building and then put word out that he was planning to resign. He then was unreachable by the team for nearly three days before the terms of his resignation were resolved with the team.

The two sides agreed that Martindale would forfeit the $3 million in salary owed to him in 2024 in exchange for allowing him to pursue other employment opportunities freely.

The Giants, meanwhile have moved on to the task of finding a new defensive coordinator. They have reported interest in Ravens defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson and Titans defensive coordinator Shane Bowen for the role.
