The Jacksonville Jaguars added to their running back room last night, selecting former Auburn Tiger Tank Bigsby in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

For Bigsby, the excitement of being drafted into the NFL brought down a mounting level of stress.

“It’s a dream come true,” Bigsby said last night. “It's very exciting. Just ready to get to work and it’s like the stress level went down. It’s like I’m on the team, I can get to work, I know where I’m at, so I’m very excited. Words can’t even explain how excited I am."

Bigsby made clear that the second to third-round range was exactly where he expected to be taken.

“Yeah, I was hearing late second, early third, late third,” Bigsby said. “I was hearing that a lot so that’s what made us get the hats. That’s what made us have the party today and that’s what I was hearing from a majority of the people, the scouts and things, and the GMs from my agents. So I trusted their words and my ability, what I did on the field, the hard work paid off and got to get back to work and I’m ready for it.”

When asked whether the 21-year-old knew the Jaguars were the team for him, he made clear that while there was no prior knowledge that the Jaguars would select him, it was still amazing nonetheless.

“When I went in that formal meeting, I did great and during Pro Day the scouts saying to me, they were talking great about me and stuff, so I didn’t know,” Bigsby said. “And I was so surprised because it’s so confusing how all these teams reach out to you the day of or the day before and it just throws you off. The teams that bring you on 30 visits and stuff like that. It throws you off and I didn’t know. I honestly didn’t know. I was so shocked when I saw 904. I’m like Florida? 88? I’m like wow. It was crazy, so it was amazing.”
