In this story:
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars are entering the last week of training camp, and Day 17 offered us perhaps our best answers yet as to what Week 1 may look like.
So, what did we see during Sunday's practice at the Miller Electric Center following Friday's preseason game against the Panthers? We break it all down below.
OL Provides Some Answers

It sure seems like we are starting to get answers on what the Jaguars' Week 1 starting offensive line will be. Joint practices against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday and Wednesday will be the true telling sign of who the Jaguars plan to trot out against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1, but Sunday's unit sure felt like what we are going to (mostly) see, depending on the health of Cole Van Lanen.
The Jaguars' starting line had Anton Harrison at left tackle, Emmanuel Pregnon at left guard, Robert Hainsey at center, Ezra Cleveland at right guard, and Walker Little at right tackle. The only question here really seems to be whether Van Lanen will be available for Week 1; if he is, he can slot into right tackle. If not, Little can start.
If the Jaguars' plan was to start Cleveland at left guard and go with a different option at right guard and tackle, logic would suggest they would implement that now. But the fact that this was the starting unit today said a lot to me. Also of interest: the backup offensive line was, from left to right, Ricky Lee, Daniele Faalele, Jonah Monheim, Wyatt Milum, and Chuma Edoga.
Travis Hunter Stays on One Side

It sure looks like the Jaguars have made their Week 1 plans for Travis Hunter clear. While Hunter is still expected to play a role on offense, he spent the vast majority of last week's practices, including the joint practice with the Carolina Panthers, at cornerback. The Jaguars once again leaned heavily toward the defensive side of the ball on Sunday, with Hunter getting zero 11-on-11 reps on the offensive side of the ball on Day 17.
This is not to say the Jaguars are completely going away from Hunter's role on offense, but as we have long expected, the Jaguars clearly think the priority for him is at cornerback. The Jaguars want Hunter ready to take a large load at cornerback right off the bat, and it is becoming more and more clear that is he will be deployed the most against the Browns.
Nate Boerkircher Makes an Impact

I think Nate Boerkircher had his best practice of training camp on Sunday. The Jaguars' rookie tight end got a lot of work with Trevor Lawrence in 7-on-7 drills in the red-zone, and he made the most of his oppurtunities in a big way. Boerkircher had some solid reps as a route-runner and was consistently getting open for Lawrence, and he made his best practice of camp on an in-breaking target with Antonio Johnson draped over his back.
Despite the contact, Boerkircher secured the pass and clearly frustrated Johnson considering how close he was to breaking up the pass. Boerkircher looked like a reliable safety blanket with some upside on Sunday, and he took his most significant step yet in training camp -- at least from a pass-catching perspective.
The WR Room Sans Jakobi Meyers

Jaguars wide receiver Jakobi Meyers got banged-up in last week's joint practice on Wednesday, leading to him wearing medical equipment on his right hand while on the sidelines during Friday's preseason game. Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said Friday that, "We will have to see. He kind of jammed it. We will have to see where it is at when we get to Tuesday and just kinda see. I don’t want to push it too much." As a result, it was not surprising to see Meyers not on the practice field Sunday.
What was interesting, however, was how the Jaguars looked to replace Meyers on the practice field. It felt like both Josh Cameron and CJ Williams got significant run with the first-team offense and Lawrence on Sunday, with the Jaguars clearly throwing the rookie duo into the fire to see which one might be the most prepared to take over for Meyers in the short-term this week.
Play of the Day

Jaguars defensive tackle Matt Dickerson didn't just have the play of the day -- he arguably had the play of training camp. With the Jaguars attempting a screen pass, Dickerson was able to read Trevor Lawrence's eyes, diagnose the play, and then find the ball in the air before making the interception and returning it for a touchdown. It was an incredibly athletic play by the backup defensive tackle, who continues to simply make it evident that he will be on the 53-man roster.
Other Notes
- The Jaguars wore no pads on Sunday so it was limited exposure to the running game, but there were plenty of red-zone passing plays and some high-energy. Parker Washington and Jourdan Lewis chirped at each other after one play and emotions were clearly high.
- Travis Hunter was *this* close to another interception on defense.
- Jourdan Lewis had an active day, breaking up several passes -- including one on CJ Williams.
- It felt like Bhayshul Tuten caught as many passes on Sunday as he has all training camp. The Jaguars were clearly focusing on the passing game, but Tuten looked good as a receiver out of the backfield.
- The Jaguars who I did not see get any reps in practice: Patrick Mekari, Jack Kiser, LeQuint Allen, Jakobi Meyers, and Albert Regis.
