Mr. Jones Set to Visit Broadway ahead of 2023 NFL Draft

Georgia starter Broderick Jones reportedly drawing interest from the Jets

The New York Jets are doing their homework on the National Champion Georgia Bulldogs’ blindside protector ahead of the 2023 National Football League Draft.

Georgia left tackle Broderick Jones will make a top-30 pre-draft visit to Florham Park, according to a report by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. In addition to the Jets, Jones is rumored to be visiting the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots.

A top-tier bookend like Jones makes sense for the Jets at No. 13 overall in the first-round Draft order, considering Duane Brown’s age and Mekhi Becton’s injury history.

NFL Draft Bible founder Ric Serritella has mocked Jones to Gang Green on multiple occasions, including his first projections following the NFL Combine.

"The Jets offensive line was ravaged by injuries, which resulted in a patchwork unit. Adding Jones would immediately provide stability,” said Serritella.

The 6-foot-5 Jones stepped up for Georgia during the 2021 campaign, starting the last four regular season games at left tackle. He played all offensive snaps in the Bulldogs’ victories over Tennessee and Missouri.

Jones took another leap in 2022, helping Georgia capture a second straight national championship while earning All-Southeastern Conference First Team honors from the Associated Press.

Jones was rock solid last fall, starting all 15 games at left tackle during the Bulldogs’ undefeated season. The fleet-footed behemoth did not surrender a single sack according to analytics reports.

Jones, who displays great length and quickness in the trenches, boosted his draft stock during the NFL Combine last month.

Adding to his first-round draft profile, Jones, who weighed in at 311 pounds, displayed 34.75-inch arm length.

The 21-year old tackle ran the fastest 40-yard dash (4.97) of the entire offensive line group. The NFL’s @NextGenStats awarded Jones an 85 “athleticism” score for his Combine performance, ranking him second amongst offensive tackle participants.

The 2023 NFL Draft will kick off on April 27 in Kansas City. The Jets currently own six selections over the course of the three-day event.

The Jets’ scheduled selections are as follows: Round 1 (13), Round 2 (42), Round 2 (43), Round 4 (112), Round 5 (143), Round 6 (207). There is, however, speculation that at least one of the second-round picks could be sent to Green Bay for compensation in the expected Aaron Rodgers trade.
