Jets Becoming Desired Destination during Saleh Era

Third-year head coach Robert Saleh spoke with Judy Battista about the franchise's recent progress

They're not the same old New York Jets.

These Jets have restored the mojo in Florham Park and veteran players want to be a part of it.

Free agent receiver Allen Lazard wanted to be a part of it, as did two-time Super Bowl champion Mecole Hardman.

Not to mention, a four-time National Football League Most Valuable Player went on the Pat McAfee Show and expressed his desire to join Gang Green.

Speaking with NFL Network reporter Judy Battista, Gang Green head coach Robert Saleh addressed the idea of Aaron Rodgers playing for the Jets.

“Two years ago when we first got there, just thinking about where we were and how far we’ve come, to have a guy like him [Rodgers] want to play for us is pretty cool and shows how far we’ve come," said the third-year head coach (according to a tweet posted by Battista).

Saleh took the reins in Florham Park after spending four seasons as the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers. In 2019, he presided over an elite defense that powered the 49ers to the NFC title and a Super Bowl LIV berth.

In Saleh’s second season with the Jets, the team ranked fourth amongst NFL leaders in both total defense (311.1) and points allowed (316).

Despite instability at the quarterback position, the Jets owned a 7-4 overall record prior to suffering six straight losses last year.
