Rodgers Rehab: Jets' Star Close to 100 Percent?

New York Jets' star quarterback Aaron Rodgers says he can do "everything" except sprint in his recovery from a torn Achilles that short-circuited his 2023 season.

While the New York Jets and angry owner Woody Johnson obsess over the team's lack of a backup quarterback, how are things progressing with their injured star starter?

Aaron Rodgers said this week he's not yet 100-percent healed from the torn Achilles that ended his 2023 season after only four snaps ... but he's close.

“It feels good,” Rodgers said during an appearance on Joe Rogan's podcast. "I can do everything except sprint at a top speed.”

Rodgers attempted to play near the end of the season. The Jets even opened his practice window at the end of November, but a loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 15 eliminated them from playoff contention.

Rodgers was activated from injured reserve just before Christmas, allowing him to continue to rehab with the team as part of the active roster.

With Johnson frustrated by former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson's underwhelming play last season, the quarterback will likely be traded and the Jets will likely have a new backup in 2024. But on the mend - even at 40 - Rodgers is targeting a full-speed return to the Jets with an eye on New York's first Super Bowl since 1969.
