Jets Will Go 'All Out' to Trade For Aaron Rodgers This Offseason

Jets general manager Joe Douglas wants to trade for Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, according to this report.

Last week, Jets head coach Robert Saleh told reporters that New York is committed to bringing in a veteran quarterback this offseason.

There are a few different candidates that the Jets could target over the next few months, but it sounds like general manager Joe Douglas will do whatever it takes to reel in the very best signal-caller from that group.

According to Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network, the Jets want Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. They want him badly.

Here's Pauline's report, from the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.:

In fact, one source said that general manager Joe Douglas is admitting to people in the league the franchise will go all out in the attempt to bring Rodgers to Gang Green. And it only makes sense.

The team is in desperate need of a signal-caller, with Zach Wilson looking more and more like a draft bust. Factor in owner Woody Johnson’s comments not long ago that he’d be willing to pay whatever is necessary for a quarterback, and it all adds up.

Rumors regarding a possible Jets-Packers trade reached new heights when New York hired Nathaniel Hackett as the team's new offensive coordinator. Hackett was the head coach with the Broncos last season—a failed operation in Denver—but before that, he worked as Green Bay's offensive coordinator. Hackett spent three seasons in charge of the Packers' offense, building a strong relationship with the future Hall of Fame quarterback.

“Love Hack. Hack is my guy. Love him and Megan and the kids,” Rodgers said on “The Pat McAfee Show” earlier this week. “They’re really special to me. We really bonded when he was in Green Bay. He made it fun. He made the room fun. He made the weeks fun.”
