He most likely wasn't on the alleged "wish list," but another former Aaron Rodgers teammate is landing with the New York Jets.

Gang Green agreed to a one-year free-agent contract with Green Bay Packers' starting safety Adrian Amos. NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport first reported the move on Tuesday afternoon and the team officially announced it shortly thereafter.

Amos, a ninth-year pro, made 66 consecutive starts for the Packers over the last four seasons.

The 30-year old Amos, who entered the league as a fifth-round draft pick in 2015, played his entire rookie contract with the Chicago Bears before joining the Packers in 2019.

Having flipped between both safety spots during his career, Amos will offer battle-tested experience to a relatively young position group outside of veterans Jordan Whitehead and Chuck Clark.

"He [Clark] really pushes Jordan in that way too, to clean up his game and to go to another place with that," said defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich during OTAs. "The safety group, I’m excited about it and I don’t think you can lose TA [Tony Adams] and some of the other guys that we have in that room. It’s going to be a great competition for those two spots."

Amos adds to a safeties' room that includes Adams, an undrafted free agent who saw significant snaps as a rookie, along with Jets' 2020 third-round pick Ashtyn Davis. Rookies Jarrick Bernard-Converse (Round 6) and Trey Dean (UDFA), who both hail from Southeastern Conference (SEC) schools, are also in the mix.

None of the Jets' safeties have logged more career starts (122) than Amos, who nearly doubles Clark's total and tops Whitehead by a margin of 50.

Amos has picked off at least one pass each of the past six seasons and has totaled 65+ tackles all eight years as a pro. He broke the 100-tackle barrier for the first time last year, making 102 combined stops over 17 starts.

Amos becomes the fifth former Green Bay Packer signed by the Jets in free agency this offseason — QB Tim Boyle, WR Allen Lazard, WR Randall Cobb, OT Billy Turner.
