Bold 2024 Lions Prediction Will Leave Fans Heartbroken

Could you handle the Lions losing in the Super Bowl?

The Detroit Lions are predicted to have a very successful 2024 season, following a deep run in the postseason for the first time in decades.

Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes have rebuilt the roster with young, gritty players that still have a lot to prove.

Losing to the San Francisco 49ers in heart-breaking fashion has left a sour taste in the mouth's of players, coaches and the front office.

With another opportunity to add talent via the draft and free agency, expectations will be even higher in Campbell's fourth season at the helm.

Sports Illustrated’s Conor Orr has released bold predictions for every NFL team.

Despite the Lions knocking on the door of advancing to the Super Bowl in 2023, Orr believes Campbell's squad will eventually lose in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.

"I don’t think it’s all that controversial to bet on a team that nearly won the NFC championship this year and returns most of its core and is in a pretty healthy cap situation. The Lions will face some stiff competition from a surging Packers team, and potentially a Bears team that keeps Justin Fields with the arrow pointing upward," writes Orr. "All that said, OC Ben Johnson will spend the offseason steeped in ways to maximize this offensive line and powerful, dynamic running game."

Many expect the Packers to garner a significant amount of headlines this offseason, as their push to the playoffs at the end of the 2023 season reminded many of how the Lions emerged in 2022.

If the Lions are able to bolster the defense and selectively add depth to the offense, there is an opportunity to again prove doubters wrong at the end of the season by actually winning their final game of the season.
