Kerby Joseph Earned Massive Pay Bonus

In this story:
NFL players and the league negotiated in their collective bargaining agreement a fund which allocates monies to players based on their salary and playing time.
The $336 million fund, split evenly among the NFL's 32 teams, allows young players to earn substantial bonuses.
Detroit Lions rookie Kerby Joseph earned $705,000 his rookie season. Based on his playing time (1,408 snaps) and his solid rookie season, the talented defensive back earned a $523,538 bonus.
According to the National Football League, "Under the Performance-Based Pay program, a fund is created and used as a supplemental form of player compensation based on a comparison of playing time to salary. Players become eligible to receive a bonus distribution in any regular season in which they play at least one official down. In general, players with higher playtime percentages and lower salaries benefit most from the pool."
Rookie linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez earned a bonus of $389,914.
