The Green Bay Packers added outside linebacker Za’Darius Smith (knee) to their injury report on Tuesday, giving them a 15-man contingent ahead of Thursday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Packers will face the Eagles without holding a formal practice. Coach Matt LaFleur held a walk-through on Tuesday and will have another on Wednesday. Smith, who has three sacks in three games, was estimated as being limited participation. Tight end Jimmy Graham (groin/quad), who would not have practiced on Monday, would have been limited on Tuesday.

Last week, neither LaFleur nor Eagles coach Doug Pederson had their teams practice on the Wednesday preceding Sunday’s games. LaFleur once again is putting a premium on rest and recovery.

“I looked at a lot of schedules from previous stops and just kind of took what I felt worked best for us as a football team,” he said. “I do know the priority is, again, making sure our players are well-rested and making sure that they have a plan that allows them to go out there and play fast and not think a lot.”

Pederson, on the other hand, had his team practice run through a shorter-than-usual practice on Tuesday.

“That’s obviously the ongoing debate. Keeping guys as fresh as possible,” Pederson said in a conference call. “We don’t have to be on the field that long. We just have to review our assignments and get the looks we need in practice. At the same time, I still have to be smart with the length of time we’re on the field and keep guys as fresh as possible with a short week.”

In last week’s loss to Detroit, the Eagles were without starting receivers DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery. Jeffery will return this week, Pederson said. Jackson, cornerback Ronald Darby and defensive tackle Tim Jernigan are starters who will not play.
