What the ESPN FPI Says About the Panthers' Chances Against the Buccaneers

A new coach, but still little hope for the Panthers.

It's a new week and a new opportunity for the Carolina Panthers to turn their season around. Making the playoffs is pretty much out of the picture at this point although they are not mathematically eliminated (yet). However, a change in leadership could result in a strong finish to the year which can help build confidence with Bryce Young at quarterback.

Offensive coordinator Thomas Brown will regain control of the play-calling duties while receiving help from senior assistant Jim Caldwell, who will have more of a role in the offense than in the previous 11 weeks of the season.

This week's opponent, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, are reeling after a strong 3-1 start to the season. The Bucs have lost six of its last seven games, four of which came by one score. Their only win during that stretch? The team the Panthers lost 17-10 to last week - Tennessee.

According to the ESPN FPI, the Panthers have a 28.5% chance to win while the Buccaneers have a 71.3%.
