33rd Team Projects Every Pick for the Carolina Panthers

A pattern is forming with mock draft projections for Carolina.

The 2024 NFL Draft is just a little over a week from getting under way and the Carolina Panthers will have some key decisions to make early on day two of the draft.

The Panthers currently hold the 33rd and 39th picks and with several teams looking to add a quarterback, Carolina could be in position to trade out of that top spot in the second round.

If they choose to stay put, the feeling most around the league get is that they will use that selection on a wide receiver. Marcus Mosher of The 33rd Team recently published a full, seven-round mock draft and projects Carolina to stay put at 33 as well as 39.

MOSHER’S PROJECTIONS FOR CAROLINA:

RD 2, Pick 33: WR Ladd McConkey, Georgia

RD 2, Pick 39: C Zach Frazier, West Virginia

RD 3, Pick 65: DT Brandon Dorlus, Oregon

RD 4, Pick 101: TE Theo Johnson, Penn State

RD 5, Pick 141: WR Jacob Cowing, Arizona

RD 5, Pick 142: CB Jarrian Jones, Florida State

RD 7, Pick 240: CB Willie Drew, Virginia Tech

Most mock drafts I’ve seen, including the ones I’ve done myself have the Panthers going wide receiver and center with those two second round picks, a defensive player and a tight end in the third and fourth rounds, and a corner somewhere on day three. The Panthers could consider taking a corner or pass rusher at 39, but neither are as pressing as receiver and center. Grabbing McConkey, Frazier, Dorlus, and Johnson with their first four picks would be a great start to the draft for Carolina.
