Carolina Agrees to Deal with Former Broncos Linebacker

The Panthers make another linebacker addition with ties to the staff.

According to Joe Person of The Athletic, the Carolina Panthers have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with linebacker Justin Strnad (6'3", 235 lbs). He becomes the second linebacker from the Broncos to sign with the Panthers this offseason, joining Josey Jewell.

Strnad spent one year with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and linebackers coach Bert Watts in Denver in 2022. The former Wake Forest star missed his rookie season with a wrist injury, but had a solid campaign in 2021, tallying 36 tackles and one QB hit in a limited role. Over the past two seasons, Strnad has played strictly on special teams, making ten tackles.

During his career at Wake, Strnad logged 244 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, 10 passes defended, eight sacks, four interceptions, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
