BREAKING: Panthers to Sign RB Miles Sanders

Carolina makes a splash at running back.

The Carolina Panthers have made a splash on the offensive side of the ball by agreeing to terms on a deal with free agent running back Miles Sanders, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The length of the deal is reportedly four years, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Sanders spent the first two seasons of his career with Panthers running back coach Duce Staley in Philadelphia. During those two seasons, Sanders rushed for 1,685 yards and nine touchdowns. This past season, he broke out for 1,269 yards and 11 scores, helping the Eagles to an NFC Championship and Super Bowl appearance.

Tuesday, Philadelphia re-signed RB Boston Scott and then agreed to a multi-year deal with Rashaad Penny, essentially spelling the end for Sanders in Philadelphia.

D'Onta Foreman remains a free agent.
