Hayden Hurst's Concussion is Season-Ending

Unfortunate news for the Panthers tight end.

Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst suffered a concussion in the Week 9 Thursday night game against the Chicago Bears. He hasn't played since.

Unfortunately, this was not not your typical concussion.

Earlier this month Hayden's father, Jerry, posted an update on his status on Twitter (X).

"@haydenrhurst has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Amnesia by an independent neurologist as a result of the hit he took in Chicago November 9. Slow recovery, don’t know when he’ll be back. Prayers appreciated!"

Friday morning, Joe Person of The Athletic reported that Hurst is expected to be placed on injured reserve, thus ending his season.

A few days after Hurst's father made that post, Hayden went on X to provide his own update.

"I appreciate everyone reaching out & checking on me. I suffered a pretty nasty concussion against the Bears a few weeks ago & don't remember up to 4 hours after the game. Scary situation but the Panthers have been incredible walking me through this process.

"While it was scary, it is NOT career ending."

Hurst appeared in nine games this season and recorded 18 receptions for 184 yards and one touchdown.
