Panthers Sign Three XFL Players

Carolina adds to the roster.

Last week, the Carolina Panthers hosted rookie minicamp and to help fill out the roster, they invited a handful of XFL players to come try out for the team. Tuesday morning, three of those players were signed.

LB Jordan Thomas

Thomas was with Frank Reich for a spell in Colts' camp in 2021. This time around, Carolina worked him out at both tight end and linebacker. As a rookie with the Houston Texans in 2020, Thomas caught 20 passes for 215 yards and four touchdowns. This will be the first time he's played on the defensive side of the ball.

WR Gary Jennings

Jennings was also in Colts' camp in 2021 with Frank Reich, so the previous connection helped here. This spring with the BattleHawks, he caught 11 passes for 149 yards and three touchdowns. During his time at West Virginia from 2015-18, Jennings recorded 168 receptions for 2,294 yards and 17 touchdowns. His two best seasons came in 2017 and 2018 with former Panthers QB Will Grier.

DE Antwuan Jackson

Jackson notched 20 tackles and one tackle for loss in 10 games with the Sea Dragons. He played his college ball at Ohio State where he totaled 47 tackles, nine tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks from 2019-21. He went undrafted in 2021.
