Panthers to Interview Samir Suleiman for GM Opening

Add another in-house candidate to the list.

As expected, in addition to casting a wide net for their search for a new GM, the Carolina Panthers will also consider a pair of in-house options. It was previously reported that interim GM Dan Morgan would get an interview and on Wednesday, the team acknowledged Morgan and Samir Suleiman as candidates for the job.

Suleiman came to Carolina in January of 2020 from the Pittsburgh Steelers, filling the role of Director of Player Negotiations and Salary Cap Manager. After two years on the job, Suleiman was promoted to Vice President of Football Administration, expanding his role in the budgeting and finance function of the football operation.

Suleiman joins a growing list of candidates which include Panthers interim GM Dan Morgan, Giants assistant GM Brandon Brown, Buccaneers assistant GM Mike Greenberg, Chiefs vice president of football operations Brandt Tilis, Eagles assistant GM Alec Halaby, Saints assistant GM Khai Harley, Ravens vice president of football administration Nick Matteo, Colts assistant GM Ed Dodds, Raiders interim GM Champ Kelly, and Lions Chief Operating Officer Mike Disner.
