Report: Panthers to Meet with Mike Vrabel on Thursday

The former Titans' coach is visiting Carolina.

Another potential head coaching candidate has entered the race.

According to Jeff Darlington of ESPN, former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel is heading north to meet Panthers brass on Thursday.

Carolina has yet to release any information about this meeting like they have with their other candidates, but it looks like Vrabel will be added to the list of interviewees. Vrabel joins Ben Johnson, Bobby Slowik, Brian Callahan (hired by Titans), Dan Quinn, Mike MacDonald, Frank Smith, Raheem Morris, Todd Monken, Dave Canales, Brian Johnson, Chris Tabor, and Ejiro Evero, as coaches that have received at least one interview.

Vrabel was fired by the Titans earlier this month after amassing a 54-45 record over six seasons in Tennesee. The Titans made the playoffs three times in Vrabel's tenure, going 2-3 in playoff games with a trip to the AFC Championship game in 2019. He was named AP Coach of the Year in 2021.

He began coaching after a decorated playing career in New England winning three Super Bowls and making the All-Pro team in 2007.

The Titans were lauded for playing hard and punching above their weight with Vrabel as their coach. Tennessee always came to play even when they were deemed as underdogs or sported less talent than their opponents. His six years of head coaching experience are significantly more than all other candidates that have interviewed in Carolina.
