Quick Hits: Mingo's First Impressions, Miscues, Ekwonu's 'Intimidating' Leadership Style + More

In this story:
How Jonathan Mingo has been since he arrived
"He's been consistent. That's been the biggest thing. For a rookie, he has shown consistency and he's shown the mental aptitude that he can handle everything we throw at him. And we've thrown a lot at him. He works hard. It's important to him. He's off to a good start."
What sticks out about Ickey Ekwonu
"First of all, physically a dominant player. Second of all, and this is from Coach Campen, who obviously has spent a lot of time with him, that he's one of those intimidating type leaders. He's not afraid to talk, but it's more about how he says what he says. He's got an intensity about him. He's a competitor. And then he backs it up with great play."
If the NFC South is up for grabs
"We're excited about the division race. Going back to yesterday, again, not going to try to predict how each team is going to be. We're trying to get ourselves ready. Obviously we open up the season with two division opponents, so that's a big deal. We'll be able to test ourselves in our division early. Who can take advantage of the offseason and this time to get prepared to come out in full sync?"
Offensive miscues
"We're going to make mistakes. I thought today the practice, the first half of the practice felt crisp and sharp on both sides of the ball. Special teams as well. And then about halfway through practice, on offense, it just felt like a little bit of a lull. A few too many turnovers and mistakes. You learn from those and you got to bounce back."
