Chandler Zavala Named Panthers' Starting Right Guard for Week 1

In this story:
Austin Corbett will miss at least the first four games of the season as he continues to work his way back from an ACL injury that he suffered in the regular season finale last January in New Orleans.
Carolina Panthers GM Scott Fitterer knew that the team had to build some depth on the interior and did so by drafting Chandler Zavala in the fourth round out of NC State, signing veteran Justin McCray in free agency, signing undrafted free agent Nash Jensen, and claiming Calvin Throckmorton off waivers from the Saints.
Zavala, McCray, and Jensen were all in the mix along with Cade Mays for the interim starting right guard job throughout training camp and the preseason. On Wednesday, head coach Frank Reich announced that he and offensive line coach James Campen have named Zavala the starter.
