Patriots 'Swiftie' Belichick on Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift Relationship: 'Biggest Catch!'

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, a self-proclaimed Taylor Swift fan, revealed his thoughts on the pop superstar's new relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who's 71 years old and known for his rough and gruff demeanor, is just about the last person one would assume to be a fan of pop superstar Taylor Swift.

Believe it or not, though, Belichick is in fact a fan of the 12-time Grammy Award winner. While not outright calling himself a "Swiftie," Belichick admitted his admiration for Swift in appearance on WEEI's The Greg Hill Show in August, even referring to one of her hit songs You've Got To Calm Down.

“That was pretty impressive,” Belichick said of attending a Swift concert last Spring. "She is tough, man. She just stood out there and played right through (the rain)...

"I’m definitely on the 'you’ve got to calm down.' That’s pretty good, like you’ve got to calm down. There’s a lot of times when that’s very appropriate. You’ve got to calm down.”

As it turns out, Swift's name has been buzzing around the NFL world over the past week. Rumors swirled about her potentially dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, and that news was confirmed on Sunday. Not only did Swift attend the Chiefs' 41-10 blowout win over the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium, but she was in Kelce's suite alongside his mother. If that somehow wasn't enough, Swift's reaction to Kelce's touchdown tells it all.

With the NFL's newest power couple confirmed, it was only a matter of time until noted Swift fan Belichick weighed in. On Monday's The Greg Hill Show on WEEI, Belichick boldly claimed that this was a career highlight for Kelce.

“Well, I would say that Travis Kelce’s had a lot of big catches in his career,” Belichick said. “This would be the biggest.”

Belichick and the Patriots have been on the receiving end of some big catches by Kelce. In five career games against New England, the Kansas City tight end has 28 receptions for 330 yards and a touchdown. His biggest reception in this rivalry came in the 2018 AFC Championship Game, when he scored from 12 yards out to get the Chiefs on the board in the second half.

This time, though, Belichick can appreciate Kelce's big catch from a distance.
