Matthew Judon Stands Up for Patriots Teammate Jack Jones

Matthew Judon didn't take kindly to a tweet poking fun at his New England Patriots teammate's embattled situation.

The New England Patriots star pass rusher is proving himself equally capable of blocking.

Foxboro Pro Bowler Matthew Judon swiftly came to the defense of embattled Patriots teammate Jack Jones when a reporter tried to poke fun at a prior tweet from the latter. Jones, who was arrested for allegedly attempting to bring two firearms onto a plane at Logan Airport and is now facing several possession charges that could land him prison for up to 30 years

A tweet from Jones has gone viral since his arrest, one where the secondary defender chastised NBA star Ja Morant for his own firearm-related legal issues. That one eventually cost the Memphis Grizzlies' franchise star the first 25 games of the upcoming 2023-24 season. NFL reporter Dov Kleiman was one of many who shared the tweet, claiming it "didn't age well."

Judon didn't take kindly to Kleiman's apparent attempt at humor.

"Don’t let someone’s low light be (your) own high light," Judon said in a reply to Kleiman. "We (hope) this turns out better for the kid."

Call it another takedown, this one coming nearly three months away from Week 1.

Judon, well-known for his active recruiting of talent from abroad, has proven himself well-capable of guiding those already wearing a Patriots decal on their helmet. It's perhaps hardly a surprise to the rest of the high-profile New Englanders, who discovered that Judon was well-capable of taking on leadership duties before setting personal-best pressure numbers for the second straight season.

"He has good energy, anxious to learn, gave us a lot of productive plays, able to work well with his teammates," head coach Bill Belichick said during last year's training camp activities, per Bernd Buchmasser of Pats Pulpit. "He works well with everybody and is a good communicator."

“Judon’s a great mentor,” fellow pass rusher Josh Uche added in the same report. “That’s probably one of the best resources that I have in terms of just football knowledge in general. Also a great person, great personality in terms of uplifting guys. It’s just great.
