Tom Brady Reacts to New England Patriots' Epic Bill Belichick Blowout

Former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is the latest to chime in on the team's blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Less than two days have passed since the New England Patriots' 38-3 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, and just about everything to say about the game has already been said.

Whether it's the fact that this loss is the Patriots' worst under Bill Belichick, the offense's continued struggles or the injuries to key defensive players, Sunday's game was nothing short of a disaster for New England. At this point, all the talking heads have already chimed in on the Patriots' impending demise, but no New England discussion feels complete without the input of former quarterback Tom Brady.

The GOAT was asked about the Patriots' loss on his Let's Go Podcast, but rather than giving his in-depth thoughts on the game, Brady instead focused on the hardships of losing in general.

“It’s tough. I mean, losing in the NFL’s tough,” Brady said. “For me watching a lot of football, every loss hurts. And believe me, if you’re part of a loss you don’t care about anyone else’s losses. You just care about your loss. If you win you look around and go, ‘All right, who else lost?’ So, in every building with a loss, it’s tough. It’s tough because you spent all week preparing and it didn’t go the way you wanted. So, it’s just that football is a tough sport. It’s brutally tough."

Brady then went on to explain that retirement has allowed him to look at football through a new lens, thus leading to his perspective on this game.

While Belichick hadn't suffered a loss this bad before, Brady did. In 2020, Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the division rival New Orleans Saints by an identical score of 38-3, marking the worst loss of his career. It worked out in the end, though, as Brady and the Bucs avenged that loss in the playoffs en route to a Super Bowl 55 title. Still, that loss probably influenced his view on this Patriots' defeat.

New England will hope for a similar fate this season, no matter how unlikely that may seem.
