Kyle Van Noy Is Not Happy About Rodney Harrison Comparisons He's Been Getting

New England Patriots linebacker Kyle Van Noy is one of the more outspoken players in that locker room. He isn't afraid to express his opinion, whether it be to teammates, the media, or everyone on social media.
That outspokenness is the same reason he was very stern with a Boston radio station when asked about comparisons between him and former Patriots safety Rodney Harrison. Here is what he said on 98.5 The Sports Hub's midday show "Zolak and Bertand" when a comment was made about him "doing the Rodney Harrison role on this team."
Kyle Van Noy's response after being compared to Rodney Harrison regarding his role on the team was surprising on @ZoandBertrand..."don't compare me to him man...I have nothing against him, I just don't want to be compared, definitely not to him." 🤔👀 pic.twitter.com/cJ41Qa8xCb

Van Noy then later clarified his statement via Twitter to help everyone better understand what he meant.
I play linebacker so compare me to Bru, Vrabes, Ninko, Willy Mac, or Mayo.... why compare me to a safety?? Or why compare anyone to anyone?? All love! Nothing but respect for Rodney...

It goes without saying - Van Noy doesn't like being compared to other players. He has built a career on being a unique player within New England's defense, which is why saying he is like a former safety that played on the team is not fair to him. They are two very different players, so trying to put them in the same category, even if it's based on one aspect of their game, is unfair.
