Las Vegas Raiders vs. New Orleans Saints Live Game Updates

Live game updates between the 2-4 Las Vegas Raiders vs. the 2-5 New Orleans Saints

The Las Vegas Raiders invade the Big Easy today to take on the New Orleans Saints.  Both teams are desperate for a win, and both teams entered the 2022 NFL campaign with high expectations.

The Raiders are surging and with the third-ranked offense in the NFL, they are looking to come out on the attack.

Remember the rule of five. If the Las Vegas Raiders win that key statistical battle, the game is over. For those who don't remember it, it has to do with sacks and turnovers. If the Raiders have three sacks and give up two, that means they are plus one. If they then get four turnovers and give up only one, that means they are plus three. That would give them a plus-four for the day. They want to get to a plus-five ratio every game. Teams that reach the rule of five scenarios win 91 percent of their NFL games on average.

HALFTIME:

The Las Vegas Raiders are struggling offensively in this first-half shutout from the New Orleans Saints.

The Raiders have a total of just 73 offensive yards, compared to New Orleans' 205.

Third-down execution has limited Las Vegas the most this game, as the Raiders are just 2-of-7 on such opportunities.

Raiders quarterback Derek Carr threw a pick in the second quarter at a critical point in the game, as Las Vegas was seeking to trim a 10-point deficit. Instead, New Orleans would score its second touchdown of the game to take a 17-0 lead.

Defensively, the Silver and Black showed positive signs in the second quarter and were able to hold the Saints to two field goals, including a crucial one that would be missed just before halftime.

The Raiders will have to find an answer for Saints running back Alvin Kamara in the second half, as the five-time Pro Bowler has 31 rushing yards, 54 receiving yards, a rushing TD and a receiving TD.

It will have to be a near-perfect second half for Las Vegas if it hopes to earn its third win of the season.
