From the Raiders Locker Room: Crosby Post Dolphins

Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby spoke after a 20-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins, and we have it for you.

MIAMI, Fla.--The Las Vegas Raiders (5-6) came into this game with the proverbial puncher's chance to win, and against the NFL's best offense, they lost, 20-13, to the Miami Dolphins (7-3).

After the game, defensive end Maxx Crosby spoke about the game and we have it for you.

Obviously the defense had a very good game today. What do you take away from that performance?

Maxx Crosby: “I’m proud of the guys, we kept fighting. That’s what we talk about all the time. We preach it -- staying together and playing for each other, and you just see that out there. No matter what it was, no matter what situation we were in, nobody blinked. We stayed tight as a unit. I think we held them to six points in the second half. I mean, that’s what you’re looking for in a defense, guys that love each other, that stay together and play for one another. I think we’re going in the right direction. We just got to stay together and keep improving.”

Was there anything specific that you said to quarterback Aidan O’Connell right before the last Dolphins drive started? I saw you go out in the field when he was kind of throwing the ball around, if you don’t mind sharing.

Maxx Crosby: “I just told him: ‘What happened in the past doesn't matter. What happens in the future doesn't matter. Just be you. Be you right here, right now. Flush everything and just go out there.’ I was like: ‘We believe in you,’ and that’s the truth. Aidan, he’s a young quarterback. It’s his fourth start. We believe in him fully. He made a lot of really good plays. There’s probably some plays that he wants back. I know he’s super critical, and that’s what you want, guys that are always wanting more. We believe in him 1,000 c. That just kind of my message to him, it was just like: ‘We believe in you. Just go out there and be you.’ So he moved the ball down the field. They just -- Jalen (Ramsey) just ended up making a great play. We love the guys we've got in this locker room.”

I know you talked about the energy being different, more able to hand a loss maybe. But I mean, the vibes are so high. Oftentimes we would say if it's so high, it's going to crash down, right? Is there a way to avoid that? Do you think that’s a fear that you could have?

Maxx Crosby: “No, hell no. At the end of the day, we're not riding a rollercoaster. It’s not like: ‘We won. Oh my God,’ or: "Oh my God, thank God the week is over.’ It’s not like that. Guys are itching to play, and you feel that (expletive). You see it every time. You’ve seen it the last three weeks, it’s not a coincidence. It’s not like some fluke. The guys are playing together, and there are no other guys I'd rather play with. I can go on and on about how much everybody is improving and the sacrifice they're making. I’ll go to war with these guys every day of the week.”

The Silver and Black will return home next week to celebrate Thanksgiving and take on their AFC West Rival, the Kansas City Chiefs, on Sunday, November 26, at 4:25 p.m. EST/1:25 p.m. PST.
