Raiders NFL Draft Prospect: TE/FB Dallin Holker

If the Las Vegas Raiders want to continue using a fullback as an occasional asset in their offense, they should consider drafting one in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Las Vegas Raiders can address numerous positions in this month's NFL Draft. Once the team gets to the later stages of Day 3, it might be wise to focus on a fullback, a position the franchise has used quite often through its history.

One option would be Dallin Holker of Colorado State, a tight end whose 2023 campaign was one of the best in the program's history.

Holker finished the 2023 season with 767 yards and six touchdowns on 64 receptions in 12 games. He was named to the 2023 All-Mountain West First Team for his efforts, as well as the Sports Illustrated, American Football Coaches Association, Sporting News, Football Writers Association of America, Walter Camp, Associated Press, USA Today and ESPN All-America second teams.

Pro Football Focus gave Holker an overall grade of 68.5, a receiving grade of 69.6 and a run-block grade of 57.2 for his 2023 campaign.

At this year's NFL Combine, Holker recorded a 4.78-second 40-yard-dash time, a 1.66-second 10-yard split time, a 32.5-inch vertical jump, a 10-feet-2-inch broad jump, a 6.83-second 3-cone-drill time and a 4.21-second 20-yard shuttle time.

NFL Next Gen Stats gave Holker a production score of 80 for his Combine outing, which ranked fourth among tight ends in his draft class. He also received an athleticism score of 75 (10th among tight ends) and a total score of 76 (sixth among tight ends).

The following is NFL analyst Lance Zierlein's evaluation of the 6-foot-3, 241-pound tight end:

"Pass-catching tight end who exploded on the scene at Colorado State after three years of pedestrian production at BYU. Holker lacks the size and grit for in-line blocking but can handle positional blocks in space. He has average play speed but might be able to crank it up a notch with better attention to it. Holker has the focus and ball skills to make the contested catch and should be capable of running most first- and second-level routes a team needs. Holker's production provides a window into his pass-catching ability, but he's a very limited blocker and appears to have a ceiling as a TE3/4."

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
