Las Vegas Raiders DT Christian Wilkins Talks Departure From Miami Dolphins

New Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Christian Wilkins played his first five NFL seasons with the Miami Dolphins before leaving for the Silver and Black this offseason.

Defensive tackle Christian Wilkins is getting closer and closer to his first season as a Las Vegas Raider.

Wilkins joined the Raiders in free agency this offseason after spending his first five NFL season as a dominant defensive lineman for the Miami Dolphins.

Wilkins discussed his departure from Miami when he recently joined the "Third and Long" podcast.

"Obviously, it's definitely like a, it's just such a transition," Wilkins said. " ... There was nothing more that I wanted to do than to bring Miami a winner and give this city, give these people, give this organizaiton what it deserved.

"So, that was, obviously, just a lot of my focus just to at least do my part. Whatever that was -- from a leadership standpoint, from a playing standpoint, from a community standpoint, I just try to always do my part and put my best foot forward there and just put, literally, my heart and soul into every aspect of everything while I was here with the Dolphins.

"So obviously, then now, it's different; it's a little tough now moving to another organization after you put so much into a team and an organization, but I definitely feel like I'm ready for it. I'm excited for this new challenge and I definitely feel like it's part of my purpose, and it's just part of guys playing for me just to shine my light in another city and another location.

"And that's just what Power Rangers do; they go wherever there needs to be some butt-kicking done, whenever you need to fight off the evil forces. No matter if it's in Angel Grove, or no matter if it's in Planet Phaedos. OK, I'm getting real nerdy right now with the Power Rangers stuff, but you just got to follow me.

" ... So, like I said, I'm definitely excited to be doing it another city, another location and another storied, historic organization and franchise, so I couldn't ask to be in a better situation , and I'm just hitting the ground running and I'm locked in."
