Tom Brady "Not Opposed" to Return, Lists Raiders as Potential Option

NFL legend Tom Brady said he's "not opposed" to returning to the league someday, and the Las Vegas Raiders could be a candidate.

Future NFL Hall of Famer and arguably the best quarterback to ever play the game of football, Tom Brady, is still in the process of becoming a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. But could he someday be more than that for the Silver and Black?

On a recent episode of the "DeepCut with VicBlends" podcast, Vic Blends asked the seven-time Super Bowl champion about the idea of coming out of retirement and returning to the gridiron.

"Let's say one day, there's a situation, right?" said Vic Blends. "Maybe it's the 49ers, maybe headed to the playoffs, offense is great."

Brady chimed in.

"Patriots, could be Raiders, could be -- you never know," he said.

Vic Blends continued:

"God forbid somebody goes down, would you pick up that phone?"

"I'm not opposed to it," Brady replied. "I don't know if they're going to let me if I become an owner of an NFL team. I don't know, I'm always going to be in good shape, always going to be able to throw the ball.

"So, to come in for a little bit like MJ [Michael Jordan] coming back, I don't know if they would let me, but I wouldn't be opposed to it."

Of course, this could all just be a fun conversation, but considering the competitor Brady has always been, it's hard to put a potential return past him.

Brady played 23 seasons -- 20 with the New England Patriots and three with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He won titles with both teams -- six in New England and one in Tampa Bay.

The 15-time Pro Bowler is close with Raiders owner Mark Davis and his name has come up countless times in the past as a potential starting quarterback for the Silver and Black.

Brady was familiar with one of the Raiders' recent regimes, as former Raiders coach Josh McDaniels served as his offensive coordinator for many seasons in New England.

It's likely that Brady's legendary playing career is behind him, but as the 46-year-old said, "You never know." Maybe we could see Brady donning the Silver and Black at some point down the road.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
