If the Las Vegas Raiders decide to use an early-Day 2 selection on a guard in the 2024 NFL Draft, Christian Mahogany could be a great acquisition.

The Las Vegas Raiders need depth at the guard position and will likely add to that in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Considering several other areas that should be of priority in this draft, the guard addition could come at any point. One prospect the Raiders should consider is Christian Mahogany of Boston College, who likely will not be picked before Round 3.

Mahogany played in 12 games last season, helping lead an offense that finished 14th in the nation in rushing at 198.8 yards per game. For his efforts, Mahogany was named first-team All-ACC and an Associated Press third-team All-American.

In addition, Mahogany helped lead the Eagles to their only winning season in his five years with the program, three of them active.

Boston College finished the season with a 7-6 record, including a victory over Southern Methodist in the Fenway Bowl.

If the Las Vegas Raiders decide to use an early-Day 2 selection on guard in the 2024 NFL Draft, Christian Mahogany could be a superb acquisition.

Pro Football Focus gave Mahogany an overall grade of 74.9, a run-blocking grade of 74.5, and a pass-blocking grade of 82.2 for his 2023 season.

Mahogany unfortunately missed the entire 2022 season due to injury. The season before, he was named to the All-ACC Second Team and started in 11 games. PFF gave Mahogany an overall grade of 82.7.

That followed Mahogany's first active season with the program in 2020, when he made 11 starts after he redshirted the 2019 season.

Mahogany did not show much versatility during his years at Boston College, having primarily played at only the guard positions. As far as skill goes, though, Mahogany is a well-balanced blocker and one who could be a solid backup or even a potential starter at some point for the Raiders if he can stay healthy.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
