The Las Vegas Raiders and General Manager Dave Ziegler had a busy offseason, one that the fans got to see come to life just a little bit on 2023 Content Day.

One of the players they signed during their notably active free agency period was wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, who came to the team on a three-year, $33 million contract from the New England Patriots.

Meyers has gradually improved over the past three seasons, posting over 800 receiving yards in the past two with eight touchdown receptions. He re-joins Coach Josh McDaniels in Las Vegas, under whom he played when McDaniels was the offensive coordinator in New England.

Meyers sat down with JT the Brick, Q Myers, and Raiders great Eric Allen as part of their Raiders Roundtable Live Show on their YouTube channel about several topics, including his transition to the Raiders.

“I feel like it’s perfect, because it’s enough people that I do know and enough people that I don’t know,” he said. “I get to rekindle with old friends I haven’t seen in a minute, and then also meet a bunch of the new guys - and we’re working hard, too - at the same time I’m getting to learn my teammates, and it’s been real cool.”

Meyers comes to the Raiders as the likely No. 3 receiving option on the team, behind Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow. These are two excellent receivers in front of Meyers, and he talked about having them as teammates.

“It’s a lot of guys who are good at their craft,” he said. “You can tell they put a lot of time in it, so I just have to go out there and put a lot of time into mine, be good at mine, and match the intensity. It’s fun, it’s competitive.”

Meyers adds another dynamic receiving threat to a Raiders team that already has a few, and he brings an innate ability to read his defender and get open against them. He is a precise runner with sure hands and should provide Jimmy Garoppolo with a safe option from anywhere on the field.
