Raiders Under Contract: Tackle Dalton Wagner

Las Vegas Raiders tackle Dalton Wagner signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent last offseason, but was on the Injured reserve for the 2023 season.

As far as undrafted free agents go, the Las Vegas Raiders seemingly got a steal when they signed tackle Dalton Wagner last offseason.

The Raiders signed Wagner to a three-year, $2,720,000 contract, the largest contract of any of their 2023 undrafted free agents.

Unfortunately for Wagner and Las Vegas, after having a solid  preseason, the rookie would be placed on the Injured Reserve List late in August after sustaining an undisclosed injury.

Wagner played five college seasons at Arkansas after redshirting his freshman year. He would play in 11 of the Razorbacks' 12 games in 2018, making one start.

The next season, Wagner started all 12 games for Arkansas at right tackle. In 2020, his redshirt junior season, he made five starts in eight appearances. The next year, he started in 10 games.

Wagner then had his best season in 2022, making 12 starts and finishing with a career-best 80.5 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, and was named to PFF's All-SEC First Team.

Wagner also was named to the 2022 Associated Press All-SEC Second Team.

The 25-year-old tackle's availability would have been beneficial when the Raiders were dealing with left tackle Kolton Miller's injury this last season, as well as the two games that tackle Thayer Munford Jr. had to miss.

With tackle Jermaine Eluemunor being a free agent this offseason and Miller having faced the first serious injury of his career that had him miss four games this last seaaon, a healthy Wagner could be very valuable to Las Vegas by the time training camp rolls around.

But "healthy" is the key word.

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
