The Las Vegas Raiders announced the signing of cornerback Cornell Armstrong on Tuesday.

The Raiders have been banged up at the cornerback position, particularly regarding Brandon Facyson, who has yet to play this season, Jakorian Bennett, who missed Week 5; and Nate Hobbs, who has been out the last two games.

Armstrong is a five-year NFL veteran who has yet to play in a game this season.

The Atlanta Falcons most recently waived him due to an injury in early September after being placed on the Injured Reserve list late in August.

Armstrong made four starts in nine games for the Falcons last season, finishing the 2022 campaign with 33 combined tackles and seven passes defensed.

The 28-year-old cornerback had been with Atlanta since early December 2021 after he was waived by the Houston Texans that September.

Armstrong spent two seasons in Houston, where he appeared in 15 games with no starts.

Before his years with the Texans, the cornerback played his rookie season with the Miami Dolphins, who selected him in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Southern Mississippi.

Armstrong was waived as part of end-of-training-camp roster cuts the following year.

The Raiders also announced Tuesday they released cornerback Rezjohn Wright and wide receiver Marquez Callaway.

Wright was signed to the practice squad on Thursday after being waived by the Carolina Panthers in August. Carolina signed him as an undrafted free agent in April.

Callaway was signed to the Raiders' practice squad on Aug. 31, two days after he was waived by the Denver Broncos, who signed him in March.

Callaway previously played three seasons with the New Orleans Saints, with whom he made 17 starts in 42 games. He registered 1,069 receiving yards and seven touchdowns with New Orleans. He was signed by the Saints as an undrafted free agent in April of 2020.

The Silver and Black will stay home at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to play the New England Patriots on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 4:05 p.m. EDT/1:05 p.m. PDT.
