The Las Vegas Raiders have brought an addition to their coaching staff aboard.

The Raiders hired Matt Lombardi as an offensive assistant, and the assistant wide receivers coach, NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported on Thursday.

Lombardi has experience coaching at both the NFL and college levels. He started his NFL journey in 2013 as a scout for the Cleveland Browns.

From there, Lombardi coached for three seasons at the University of Louisville, serving as a special teams quality control coach before taking the role as a tight ends graduate assistant coach.

Lombardi then coached two seasons at Baylor University as an offensive quality control coach. He returned to the NFL in 2019 as a quality control coach for the Miami Dolphins.

The following season, he went to the Panthers and served as the assistant quarterback's coach for the last three seasons.

Lombardi already has a special tie to the Raiders and the coaching staff. His brother is Las Vegas' offensive coordinator Mick Lombardi.

Matt Lombardi joins another recent addition to this Raiders coaching staff this offseason, as the club hired Scott Turner to be its pass game coordinator earlier this month.
