Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby was recognized with quite the honor on Friday.

Eastern Michigan University, Crosby's alma mater, inducted the Pro Bowl defensive end into its football Ring of Honor.

According to EMU Athletics, in order for an alumnus to qualify for the Ring of Honor, he must have been named an All-American during their time there and/or must have played in an NFL game.

Crosby addressed players from the current EMU team during his visit on Friday, sharing his words of wisdom.

"Every single day I wake up, I'm looking for a reason, or looking for a way to separate myself from everybody else," Crosby said, per a video tweeted by EMU football. "And I don't mean that in a selfish way. I'm looking at it as: 'How am I going to maximize my career? How am I going to make the most out of my career? When I look back, am I going to have any regrets?' If I can do what I'm doing on a daily basis, I'm going to look back and be proud of everything I've done. It doesn't matter if I don't make the Hall of Fame, if I don't get another sack in the league. If I continue to do what I'm doing on a daily basis and checking every box ... I can't have any regrets; there's no way you can."

As appreciative as Crosby is of the honor from the place he considers his "second home," the elite edge rusher has his eyes set on so much more.

"I look myself in the mirror and I'm like: 'I'm not going to just be a dude from Eastern that made the NFL and had a pretty good career and whatever,'" Crosby said. "I'm like, 'I'm going to go be the best.' I don't care what it takes."

Crosby was a two-time first-team All-MAC honoree during his time at EMU. He recorded 41 tackles for losses and 20 sacks, tied for the second-most in program history.
