With quarterback Brian Hoyer's release and the expected release of Jimmy Garoppolo, the Las Vegas Raiders were bound to add at least one veteranquarterback this offseason.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Raiders have agreed to terms on a two-year deal with Pro Bowl quarterback Gardner Minshew.

Rapoport's fellow NFL Network insider, Tom Pelissero, reported the contract will be worth $25 million, with $15 million fully guaranteed.

Minshew spent last season with the Indianapolis Colts, having perhaps his best campaign. He totaled 3,305 passing yards and 15 passing touchdowns in 17 games, with only 13 starts. He was selected to the 2023 Pro Bowl, the first of his career.

Before his stint in Indianapolis, Minshew spent two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, playing only nine games with two starts. He passed for 1,102 yards and seven touchdowns as an Eagle. Minshew also appeared in two of Philadelphia's playoff games as part of their run to Super Bowl LVII.

Minshew was traded to the Eagles by the Jacksonville Jaguars, who selected him in the sixth round (No. 178 overall) out of Washington State of the 2019 NFL Draft.

As a rookie, Minshew turned heads with a stellar season, with 3,271 passing yards and 21 touchdowns in only 14 games, 12 of which he started.

Minshew played two seasons with East Carolina University and one with Washington State, leading the Cougars to an 11-2 record in 2018 season, when they finished at No. 10 in the final AP Poll.

The veteran quarterback adds competition for Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell. If Las Vegas is still intrigued by the idea of adding one of the top quarterback prospects in next month's draft, it might only be the start of a very competitive training camp for the quarterback room.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
