Raiders Josh Jacobs Is Fourth Best RB in the NFL

There is no doubt that Josh Jacobs has proven himself as one of the best running backs in the NFL. Coming off one of his best seasons in the NFL, Pro Football Focus ranks Josh Jacobs as the fourth-best running back in the League.

Jacobs had an outstanding 2022-23 NFL season. He is coming off a year as the league's leading rusher, with 1,653 yards. Jacobs had 12 touchdowns for the Raiders last season as well. 

Last season, Jacobs had a second straight season with a yards-per-carry average of 4.0. He also had a second straight season with 0.21 missed tackles, which was a great average compared to other running backs in the league. Jacobs' run after contact was 3.0 yards as well last season.

PFF ranks Josh Jacobs as the third-best running back in the AFC. He ranks behind Nick Chubb of the Cleveland Browns and Derrick Henry of the Tennesee Titans. Nick Chubb finished last season with  1,525 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. Derrick Henry finished last season with 1,538 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. Jacobs is also ranked behind Christain McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers, out of the NFC. McCaffrey finished last season with 1,139 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.

The Raiders decided to use their Franchise Tag on star running back Jacobs this off-season. The Raiders hopes to sign Jacobs to a long-term deal, as he has proven to be a top-tier running back in the National Football League.
