The Las Vegas Raiders selected defensive end Maxx Crosby in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Eastern Michigan, back when they were the Oakland Raiders.

From the very beginning, Crosby felt that it was a perfect match. He felt his personality and play style fit perfectly with what the Raiders are about, going as far as calling the Silver and Black: ‘A way of life.’

“There’s no such thing as a halfway Raider fan,” Crosby said on the latest episode of his podcast, "The Rush With Maxx Crosby," on which Coach Antonio Pierce was a guest.

“You’re either all the way in or all the way out. For me, I live my life that way. Before I took a snap with the Raiders, I got the shield tatted right on me. I knew exactly this is where I want to be. It made too much sense.”

Crosby then joked that his physical appearance made him a perfect fit to be a Raider as well.

“Some people say I look like a biker, some people say I look like this, and I’m like, ‘F—ing right, I’m a Raider, m—--f—er.’" Crosby said. "I fully embrace it because y’all are real and authentic. We go from L.A. to Oakland to Vegas, some of the dopest, realest cities in the country.

“I fully live it and represent it on a daily basis, and it carries out through my family. My wife knows how I am, my friends know how I am, I live it, and I breathe it every single day. I’m sure AP can say the same exact thing. It’s a way of life, for sure.”

Pierce added to Crosby’s thought, reminding the live audience that he grew up as a Raiders fan.

“I grew up in these colors,” Pierce said. “I grew up in inner-city L.A. That was a way of life for a lot of different reasons. When you wore that Silver and Black, it meant something.”

The Raiders are not only one of the most recognizable teams in the NFL but in all of professional sports. Crosby and Pierce take wearing the Silver and Black seriously and treat it as a privilege.
