Respect for Raiders Josh Jacobs Evident in Madden Rating

As everyone waits eagerly for Madden 21 player ratings--a group of launch ratings has been released.
Included in the launch ratings are the NFL’s top 10 running backs--and as Raiders own Josh Jacobs enters his second year in the league, he’s already sitting among the big boys of the league.
Jacobs received an 88 overall rating--tied with Alvin Kamara for the ninth-best running back in the game.
That is an impressive and considerable upgrade from a year ago when Jacobs received a 74 overall rating as a rookie.
That may sound good, but according to PFF, Jacobs finished the 2019 season with an 87.1 offensive grade--second among qualified running backs and earned an 86.9 run grade--also second among running backs.
Breaking down Jacobs’ Madden ratings:
Last year as a rookie, Jacobs rushed for 1,150 yards, seven touchdowns, and lost only one fumble, while playing only 13 games due to injury.
His single fumble all season long earned him a 97 carrying rating.
Jacobs’ speed rating of 87 might have been due to his pro day 40-yard run that ranged between 4.52 to 4.56. His 91 acceleration rating and 91 awareness rating should help him explode through some significant gains.
As first reported by ESPN, Jacobs was given a 94 rating in breaking tackles, second among all running backs in Madden 21, trailing Nick Chubb’s 97.
It comes at a surprise, as Jacobs led the league a year ago with the most broken tackles by a running back with 69.
Following the 2019 season, Jacobs was named the second most elusive running back in 2019 by PFF. His production a year ago would be why in Madden 21, Jacobs received an 82 strength rating, 84 juke rating, 86 stiff-arm rating, and 89 trucking rating.
Jacobs is expected to emerge as a three-down back, and his 95 stamina rating will surely keep him for the majority of the game, and 93 toughness rating will surely help him fight for extra yards.
Jacobs surely looks like a complete running back heading into Madden 21, while his ratings could have been slightly higher. Without a doubt, Jacobs is a player that will be wrecking through defenses and will be a player to watch out for coming out of the backfield.
Raider Nation should be proud and not disappointed about Jacobs' ratings. I wish I could say that about other Raider players in Madden 21.
