Although the Las Vegas Raiders brought in their fair share of veterans, they have already begun depending on the youth on their roster. The Raiders have youthful, talented pieces, especially on defense, with players such as Amik Robertson.

"Amik [Robertson] is learning a lot of roles because he's backing up a lot of different spots and all the rest of it, which is not easy to do," Coach Josh McDaniels of the Las Vegas Raiders said. "He went in there and he was aggressive, tackled and covered."

"I have a lot of confidence in Amik, and I think our team does, too," said McDaniels. "So, we'll see how it all shakes out relative to the role he'll end up fitting in this week and the things we may need from him. But he's always ready to go and he went in and did his job."

Robertson shared his mindset as Monday night's game against the Green Bay Packers approaches.

"Energy," Robertson said. "Whenever your number is called, be ready. I love the game. I love football, its my happy place. Sometimes it doesn't always go your way but you have to enjoy it while you can."

Robertson is known for his versatility and the energy he brings to the Raiders' defense. He credits his willingness to learn as a major contributing factor to his getting to where he is today.

"We've all got room for improvement. All we can do right now is make as little mistakes as possible," Robertson told Sports Illustrated. "I'm an open ear, I always have room for improvement. As of now, just keep stacking and building, growing as a young player and keep getting after the ball."

Robertson says he and the defense know how dangerous the Packers' offense can be. However, they are ready for Monday night.

"They have a young team and can't overlook them. The Packers are coached by a great coach, they have a talented quarterback, a very explosive offense. We just have to go out there and compete and do our job."

"We'll bring the energy; it's going to be exciting. Monday Night Football, we're the only two teams on. We're hoping to do some great things."

While all players progress at different rates, the Raiders must be happy with Robertson's recent growth. It will be critical he continues to grow into the player they envisioned he'd be when he was drafted in 2020.

The Silver and Black return home to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas next week to play the Green Bay Packers on Monday, Oct. 9, at 8:15 p.m. EDT/5:15 p.m. PDT.
