Down a Captain, Raiders' O-Line Adapted in SNF Victory

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders' offensive line was without its captain, left tackle Kolton Miller, against the New York Jets on Sunday night, a huge setback as it prepared to face one of the top NFL front sevens.
While it was far from perfect, the O-line persevered and helped star running back Josh Jacobs rush for 116 yards, while also protecting rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell in key moments.
"I mean, we talked about that earlier in the week obviously, with Miller being out," Raiders Interim Coach Antonio Pierce told our Hondo S. Carpenter Sr. after his team's 16-12 victory. "Big ups to Jermaine [Eluemunor]. Switching from right tackle to left tackle is not easy to do in the middle of the season, late in the season.
"He did it like a champ. It gave us the best five that we felt to put out there to give us an opportunity to win the game. Just a lot of -- what you see, I think, with this team is guys being -- whatever it takes to do for one another, they're willing to do it.
"And that's what I'm proud about with them. It wasn't pretty at times, but they kept battling, they believed."
Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby knows a good O-line group when he sees one. The two-time Pro Bowler could not have been more proud of the group he goes up against in practice.
"The Jets have a lot of great players on that front and defense in general, so the way they [the Raiders' O-line] responded, it just speaks -- credit to them as people and players," Crosby said. "So, yeah, those guys battled all night, they found a way and when we needed it, they stepped up. So, I'm super proud of those guys.
"They work their a-- off every day. So, I'm happy for them."
Miller missed Sunday's game due to a shoulder injury, making it only the third game he has missed in his six-year NFL career.
The Silver and Black will head out on the road to South Beach to take on the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 1:00 p.m. EST/10:00 a.m. PST.
