Pierce Wants 'To Be the Best Raider Coach of All Time'

Las Vegas Raiders Coach Antonio Pierce is reaching for greatness, and he has the leaders who want to do the same.

Las Vegas Raiders Coach Antonio Pierce achieved a monumental milestone in his life when he was named the coach of the Raiders, but he's only getting started.

As interim coach this past season, Pierce proved he will give his all in the job, just as he has done in every role he has ever had in football.

On Tuesday's episode of "The Pivot Podcast" Pierce opened up about his mentality when it comes to his motivation to be the best at what he does.

“I’m good with being AP, man," Pierce said. "AP good without being the head coach. I was good as the linebacker coach.

“And I was going to be the best damn linebacker coach I could be. That was my goal. Now the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders -- my job is to be the best Raider coach of all time; that’s my goal.

“Am I going to get it? I don’t know. F---, man, I’m striving for it, I want players to strive for that.

"That's what Maxx [Crosby] talks to me every day about: 'I want to be the greatest Raider of all time -- Step 1. I'm going to be a world champion -- Step 2. I want to be a Hall of Famer -- Step 3. I want to be the greatest of all time -- Step 4.'

"I want guys like that around me. Davante Adams, the same thing.

"I know, 'AP, you're talking about the one percent of the one percenters.' But f---, man, what are we striving for? Why are we doing all this work? Why are we doing these push-ups? Why are we sitting here talking about this today?

"Because you guys want to be the best at what you're doing. There's no difference."

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
