NFL Media Believes Raiders Should Trade Down

There's a ton of talent to go around in the first round of this month's NFL Draft, and the Las Vegas Raiders are in an advantageous position to make the most of it.

The Raiders have the seventh overall pick, but they also have a number of picks (12) in total that they could offer should they decide to trade up.

Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports believes trading up is the best option for the Raiders heading into this year's draft.

The writer gave his opinion on what every team represented in the first round should do with its first-round pick in a recent article.

Of the Raiders, Benjamin wrote the following:

"This isn't what we think Las Vegas will do, but unless Anthony Richardson is on the board or Will Levis has unanimous internal support as a surefire franchise QB, they'd be better suited accumulating assets. Their offseason was full of serviceable but lateral moves -- like swapping Derek Carr for Jimmy Garoppolo, and essentially Darren Waller for Jakobi Meyers -- so they're still in dire need of some long-term foundational pieces. Coming away with a tackle and, say, QB Hendon Hooker later in the process could be an ideal scenario."

As it stands now, the Raiders have at least one draft pick in every round.

The 2023 NFL Draft will go from April 27-29 and be held at Union Station in Kansas City, Mo. The 2023 NFL Year and Free Agency period began at 4 p.m. EDT on March 15.

The Raiders are expected to be significant players in the free-agent market this offseason.
